NASA is Planning Trip to the Sun

If you ever heard stories about traveling to the sun, then NASA is about to make them into a breaking news. The johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory is building an unmanned craft to visit the sun’s corona. It will be speeding past the sun at 125 miles per second while exposed to radiation and temperatures upp to 2,600 degrees Fahrenheit, and pelted with energized dust.

This project has been planned for decades with scientists which unfortunately haven’t found any feasible cost to send the probe to the sun. The probe will be circling the sun for about seven years until it reaches its closest approach which about 4.1 million milesfrom the sun. Many tasks are being hold with the probe, from magnetic fields, solar winds, dusty plasma, until energetic particles which found on the sun.

Such subjects are more than just interesting—researchers say that understanding energetic particles that zip our way from the sun can affect cell phones and power grids here on the ground, and could threaten the health of astronauts in orbit. The probe is scheduled to launch in 2015.
