Employing the cooling effect of evaporating water, designer Rochus Jacob created the Thermodynamic Cooler which recently earned him the Green Life Design Competition. The innovative cooling system which allows anyone to preserve food and fruits, requires no electricity.

Thermodynamics Cooler is comprised of two pots one inside the other, the cooler is filled with wet glass-foam that evaporates to cool the temperature by several degrees. As the thermodynamics law applied, the inner clay pot which covered by a damp cloth is chilled, reducing the temperature that will kill micro-organisms and preserve the perishable foods for longer duration.

Users are required to refill the cooler with water after every two days to keep the cooling and thus preservation on, while a green indicator keep users informed about the water level or moisture within.
